Youth News - Youth Alpha and Breakout

The Youth group is currently on an exciting exploration of Christianity as it follows Youth Alpha. Also, the annual weekend away for the Young Church youth will soon be here! Ten people with four leaders are going to Breakout, the Methodist Association of Young Churches, in mid July, at Cliff College, Derbyshire. Those who went last time only have excellent things to say about the event, which was filled with God, teaching and sausages. We are asking both churches - Holy Trinity and Heworth Methodist - to pray for the both activities and all involved. .

A Word in Time - Methodist Online Bible Study

The web team at Methodist Church House have recently launched an online Bible study called A Word in Time. It features a daily Bible reading, background and an explanation of the text, reflections and questions to ponder from that week’s contributor, and follows the readings in the Methodist Prayer Handbook. You can read the study, or download audio files for each day’s Bible study to a computer or mp3 player and listen at a time convenient to yourself.

A new Methodist discussion site

Well, recently brought to our attention, Interface is a Methodist forum for viewing and discussing things in the news and other issues in the light of faith. An antidote to the usual artificially polarised views presented in the media generally.
