Going Crafty

Would any adult like to try their hand at some crafts?  Prick and stitch, paper pricking, embossing and rubber stamping, decoupage – why not join Ann Bowes in the church hall on Saturday 2nd August from 9.45-3.30pm. Cost £3 for the day and you need to bring a packed lunch and, if possible, needles, pins and scissors.  All profits to church funds.  If interested, please contact Ann.

Lunch time

Pauline and Ann are holding their next Luncheon on Saturday 16th August in the church hall.  We do hope you can come. Entertainment as usual.  If you are interested, please have a word with Pauline and Ann as soon as possible. 

Summer Theatre School

 Alpha leader needed

We are holding an Alpha course in the autumn from Tuesday 23rd September to 2nd December. We need people to lead or help lead the discussions following the talk at each of the alpha meetings.  You are more than a participant, you are responsible for having some questions ready to throw into the pot and encourage each other, but you aren’t there to teach and be ‘the expert’.  There is a training evening on September 16th at HT church hall, 7.30pm where Erika from YCC will give you loads of confidence!  Although Alpha doesn’t start till September, because of the impending summer season, we do need to get firmed up on who is actually interested and available.  So why not have a chat with Michael and volunteer.

Archbishop’s Pilgrimage to Taize

For young adults aged 17-25 takes place 2nd-11th August. Posters and cards at the back of church plus a background article in the January Diocesan Newsletter.

Back to church Sunday

This is a great opportunity to join with churches across the York diocese in inviting people who have thought they might give church a try one day, to make Sunday 28th September that day.  We will be giving you at least two invitations to invite people who don’t come to church, not those who do come intermittently.
